Here's Denver in Mum's (Janelle's) turnout gear ... practising ... she wants to be a Firefighter when she grows up and work at No.10 Station
Denver was also helping at the WOW week display ... checking out the inside of Little Jock just in case a callout was required!
The NTFRS was at Woodroffe Primary School recently as part of WOW week ... which is Week of Wonders. While regular firie Paul Rubie and volunteer firie Janelle Stewart did information sessions and took the children for rides in Little Jock for the early childhood classes, firefighter Brett Holmes (who also teaches at the school) ran information sessions for the upper childhood classes. It was a very busy day, and a fine example of Volunteers and Regulars working together.
Due to a shortage of member numbers, the Bees Creek Volunteer Fire Brigade combined with the Virginia Volunteer Fire Brigade in 2006/2007. The two fire stations have been retained, and the combined crews are now more able to mobilise in both fire trucks to emergency response incidents.
