It has been a long time since this page has been updated! Finally I have revived this site, because the North South Line for openBVE project has finally been "revived" from its dead state without much updates for the whole of 2011. In 2012, more updates and even releases will be planned.
First few updates though:
- The whole North South Line may be built once more from scratch, though updates from the older versions is still likely
- Version numbering system MIGHT be abolished
- Adding more track-side scenery for realism (like buildings, greenery etc.)

There is NO upgrade option this time - you can delete all NSL files and folders, or just overwrite everything.

I wonder if anyone has noticed, but Michelle has released a demo of openBVE 2 over at http://openbve.trainsimcentral.co.uk/openbve2.html!
Main points from the article:
- The ability to load CSV/RW routes along with B3D/CSV/X objects in some sort of a route viewer.
- There is no support for trains yet
- Development has not stalled.
- The new renderer does not associate objects to track positions, but manages them in a quadtree structure on a two-dimensional grid.
- Free-roving camera compared to one that is forcibly track-bound.
- The new renderer stores object geometry on the card and only sends in new geometry if things actually change.
- The new renderer in this demo is about 10-20 times faster that the old renderer in openBVE 1.x.
- Background images and fog are not yet supported. Only a background color will be shown.
- Animated objects are not yet supported. This includes signals. These objects are not shown at all.
- Glow is not yet supported. All objects using glow will always show at full intensity instead of fading in.
- The legacy visibility system (where objects are disposed of as soon as the CSV/RW block the object was placed in has been passed by the camera) is not yet supported, only the new 2D grid is.
- There is no way for you to jump to specific "track positions" as the new program does not have something like them internally.

North South Line 0.4.20100220 Official BBT - YIS (Special Unfinished Ver) has been released. Note from jerryonhere: This is a special unfinished version that has quite a lot of things not done. I put it up so I am free from any "debts". This route is not fully developed but just treat it something like Windows Builds. There are no changes, except the extension to YIS. This route will be fixed when my other developers work on this. But for now, just enjoy the route. Note to developers: Don't ask me why I released this route even though it is unfinished. I will tell you now. I don't want to have another burden on me for now. In other words, my exams coming, I don't want more "stress", there, an excuse.
