If you stutter, you're not alone! ... in Los Angeles!
Welcome to the Los Angeles- San Fernando Valley Chapter of the National Stuttering Association. The National Stuttering Association (NSA) is the largest self-support organization in the United States for people who stutter. The NSA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing hope and empowerment to people who stutter, their families, and professionals through support, education, advocacy and research. The NSA has over 70 local chapters across the country. For general information about stuttering, treatment, and advice: check out the National Stuttering Association website and/or contact the National Stuttering Association headquarters.
The LA Chapter of the NSA is an adult support group, meeting once a month in the San Fernando Valley, made up of persons who stutter or have an interest in stuttering. Together we simply share experiences involving our speech and support each other with any personal goals. See "About our Meetings" in the menu on the left to read about our meetings. Although we are primarily an adult support group, we welcome young adults who are not intimidated by being in a group with a bunch of older folk. We hope to offer encouragement by hearing from their older brethren who stutter that stuttering does not have to stand in the way of a happy and successful life. - Click here for survey results about self-help combined with speech therapy.
