Our Mission

"There is nothing of which we are more ashamed than of not being ourselves, and there is nothing
which brings us greater joy and happiness than to think, to feel or to say what is ours."
Erich Fromm

Our mission is to bring hope, dignity, support, education, and empowerment to Dallas area children and adults who stutter.

Founded in 1977, the National Stuttering Association (NSA) is the largest support group organization in the United Stages for people who stutter. The NSA's foundation is in its nationwide system of local chapters.  The Dallas Chapter is one of those chapters.

We are a support group geared toward supporting our members in all aspects of life, especially those areas affected by stuttering.  We welcome people who stutter, family members, friends, students, speech professionals, and anyone else interested in learning about or supporting people who stutter.

While many chapter members are undergoing or have completed formal speech therapy programs, the NSA is not a therapy group and speaking at meetings is entirely voluntary.

If you stutter, you are not alone in Dallas.  We are here to help.
