Painting 1 - Allegorical Animals or Self -Portrait
Last month, the students studied allegorical animals and how they are depicted in painting. These animals are meant to convey a deeper meaning than their physical appearance. The students assignment is pretty open-ended. They can paint in any style they want to try with open subject matter. This assignment has the requirements that their paintings are creative, original and depict at least one animal with a symbolic meaning. The students can also choose to do a value scale self-portrait instead of the allegorical animals.
Painting 2 - Independent Study Painting
Students are open to develop their own body of work while developing their creative voice.
