Hi to everyone, after been a Ham Radio Amateur from more than two decades, I decide to change my original call sign (WP4DQK) selecting this new call sign, NP4KT with all the nice things of small, easy CW catch call can offer and finally also decide to do this web page to consolidate my Blog info and other ham radio interest here. Welcome to all! I am a mid age (40 at this time) male who has been active on few operating modalities of the ham radio possible activities and lately more interest on CW and digital QRP (low power) ones. My primary interest with this page is to publish info about radio kits assemble experience, CW paddles and key fabrication, restoration and use with some home made antennas project to talk about. My actual blog is in spanish language, wp4dqk.blogspot.com, and I will try to put here more or less the same info in english or bi-lingual (spanish/english) to help people around the spanish speaking countries that need more information on his primary language. This is a new in progress web-page so, it will be changing time after time. Hope you like it in one way or another. My interest are close related into CW and digital QRP operation, even at home, mobile and portable. I usually use more power when mobile, about 75W input power into the MP-1 antenna from my FT-857d, but less at home and portable with my portable radio kits. The antennas at home are home-built with few different models around and the primary Station is use by my father too, WP4L, a very active CW (lover) operator. If you listen him on SSB take it, because this may be one of the most rare KP4 DX contact you can do, just kidding! He is very active in low middle band at morning and evening time here in Puerto Rico, but never in phone. This is where we live and the Home Station is located here in the Island. The Grid Locator is FK68oe. The altitude is near 2000 feet above sea level and the location is some compromise to the north heading where we have a heavy mountain call "Cerro el Novillo". I sometimes operate mobile/portable from there, it is 3000 feet above sea level with a nice all around clean view. Nice DX operating location! The Station is a complicate full of "junk" and "less junk" radios from old SP-600 Hammarlund to an Elecraft K3 (qrp model) with some nice CW paddles from our own design/construction to Begali's models. I really love Piero Begali CW paddle works! I like to operate with them, no more than Dad, but also like to use the old Bug Deluxe and the "tunnel carpal killer" J-47 straight key. I will like to incorporate more info about all of this here in this web page soon. Keep visiting and thanks for coming. Best 73! Milton A. Riutort |
