Finally, you can. Firefox plugins let you block images, and advertising, but not false websites. How do you stop it? There are malicious sites, sites that promote fraud and commit crimes, all the way down to sites that promote hoaxes, bully people, and just plain waste your time. Ever do a google search and wind up on a page full of junk? Exactly. Sometimes it's not easy to tell a site is bad, and it'd be nice if you could report the ones you find. Now you can, and more, with Firefox, and "Link Extend" plugin. This takes the Firefox link scanning to a whole new level, where you can view the quality of a site without clicking on it, and report sites that you find which are fraudulent, mischievous, or malignant! I've already gotten used to it and LOVE it. No, I don't work for them, and YES you should be on the lookout for shill reporting - it's everywhere. Worst examples of bad sites, or best examples? Worst of the worst, that's what I mean: ebaumsworld.net theonion.com thechive.com techcrunch.com facebook.com myspace.com These above sites are singularly responsible for distribution and mass-promotion of various public frauds, falsehoods, misinformation, and violations of privacy, civil rights, and other laws. I strongly suggest avoiding reading anything from any of these sites, and never using them at all if possible. My entire family is on facebook and constantly I get regurgitated mails about some bullshit or another from them as thought it's gospel. Family are the worst at propagating these tall tales. I try to avoid reading anything that comes from it, despite being practically forced to use it. There's an exponentially growing cadre of sites that cross-link to each other, and make it appear as though all of them are legitimate through this constant self-reference... when they're probably all owned by the same media company. The above CORPORATIONS probably will not like being called out as potential criminals, but they are potential criminals, and have certainly engaged in and condone acts that in my opinion are crimes. How many Jenny's do we need? How many balloon boys do we need? How many times does the public need to be whipped? The answer according to the corporations is infinity. Companies do well when the public suffers. (c) 2006, 2010 Novel Worlds Co., Ungoth Inc. Other pages - unrelated: |
