News: February 20, 2010. The DNR has all but said that at least five state coal plants are violating the Clean Air Act, including UW-Eau Claire and UW-LaCrosse. The DOA (Department of Administration) says it is committed to cleaning them up.

 

 

 

 

 

Coal is one of the most environmentally problematic fuel we currently use. From production to burning to disposal, it leads to a plethora of hazards. This site is dedicated to the campaign to reduce the use of coal, control its emissions, and eventually eliminate the use of coal from the University of Wisconsin campuses, as well as all State of Wisconsin power plants, and most immediately at the Eau Claire, Stout, and LaCrosse campuses. UW-Madison has pledged to get off coal, and so can the others.
