tested on verbal and mathematical ability.
SAT Subject Tests- The subject tests are offered in several different subject areas.Students may take up to three tests on any testing date. Some colleges require that applicants take SAT II Subject Tests so you'll want to research your college list and make sure you know which schools require this. Most specify which tests to take (a Math test is often required), but some let students choose.
Score Choice- This option is recently available for current Juniors, Sophomores and Freshman. Score Choice gives you the option to choose which scores (by test date for the SAT and by individual test for SAT Subject Tests™) you send to colleges—at no additional cost. You can choose scores from one, several, or all SAT test dates. The College Board has partnered with colleges and universities to help you understand which scores they would like you to send. Once Score Choice has launched, you will be able to view the score-use practices of participating colleges and universities on CollegeBoard.com so you can send the appropriate scores. This information will be presented to you at the time that you’re asked to send scores. Colleges and universities will only receive the scores that you send them—your scores will not be released without your consent. Score Choice is optional, and if you choose not to use it, all of your scores will be sent automatically.
The ACT exam has been designed to assess high school students' general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work. The tests cover four skill areas: English, mathematics, reading, and science reasoning. The ACT is more commonly used in the Midwest, West, and South. Most colleges will accept ACT scores in lieu of or in addition to SAT scores. Students who may want to consider taking an ACT test are those students who would likely do better on a test that involves areas like science reasoning that are not tested on the SAT test. Also, students who are applying to schools in the West or Midwest should check to see if the college wants applicants to take the ACT exam.
