It's been a week since the event. We're looking at next year already. Lots of changes already, new leadership, more ideas, etc.

We will keep you posted.

Last Call! Registration Update, 5/14/11
Reminder: Tomorrow, 5/15/11, Sunday at midnight pre-registration will officially close. Penalty for not pre-registering: No free food on Sat. and Sun. during event!

If you don't make the cut-off, never fear. Walk-ons are admitted. However you must have someone from your unit, or your unit CO, or another unit vouch for you (and thus take responsibility for you). Additionally, you - like everyone else - MUST have your up to date HRS, TSG, or society card. No ifs ands or buts...

Event Security Update, 5/8/11
The head MP this year, Ken Hoelscher of the 10th Mountain Division, will be checking units at S&A and at RANDOM times during the event. Units are expected to police themselves and make sure they are in compliance with the event rules (they are 95% like every other event you attend).   To stress the importance of unit self-monitoring, Ken has highlighted the importance that there be NO LIVE AMMO. Should live ammo be found on anyone at any time, they, and their ENTIRE unit, will be asked to leave. Police your unit (whether you're in charge or not) as something this drastic could have you all ejected.

Additionally, All MPs and FGs that will be assisting with the event (and any other volunteers), please contact Ken Hoelscher at Lowrdrbird@yahoo.com. He will establish a plan of action with you.

Campsite Update, 4/23/11
Campsites are going quickly. All fair sized sites in the front of the museum (Allied camps near main gate and by the Depot) have been assigned. There exist some smaller sites for units that have nothing larger than pup tents as far as tentage goes. Camp sites in the Axis camps are slowly filling up, so grab yours while you still can. Any Allied unit that hasn't spoken up already, will be placed in the eastern part of the museum grounds, by the creek, in Electric Park/"Cassino". There were some complaints that spectator traffic was not as great last year in this area, so we are taking steps to remedy this through additional signs as well as an Allied Checkpoint which will draw the crowd down the road.

If you have not yet contact any of the event staff regarding camp sites, please do so NOW. Your unit must be registered and we must know what you intend to bring out so that we can give you the appropriate space required.

Registration Update, 4/21/11
Registration will be located for the ENTIRE weekend, Friday to Sunday, at Campsite #200. Campsite #200 is just southeast of the main depot and is where the 10th Mountain Division has been camped in the past. We will have a tent pitched in this area all weekend, look for the signs guiding you to "REGISTRATION". This location will also double as "Reenactor HQ", if you have a question, issue, or need something, you go here. The individuals on duty here will be able to direct you or your question/issue/comment along the proper .

As a reminder:
Pre-Registration closes a week before the event (5/20/11).
Pre-Registrants are encouraged to bring their own paperwork (to speed up the process).
Registration opens at 3pm on Friday.
Walk-ons do not receive a meal.
Have ALL your papers in order before getting in line.

Breakfast the Most Important Meal of the Day, 4/19/11
Start the day right with a balanced breakfast. The Museum will be unable to provide breakfast of any sorts this year, but Dave Fornell has volunteered his field kitchen to provide breakfast. This will be provided to reenactors only for a small nominal FEE. You need to get in touch with Dave Fornell and make it known that you and/or whomever you represent are interested in the meal. This is so that he can plan for how much is needed.

Sleeper Car Berths, 4/19/11
Berths in the sleeper car are available. There are a total of 30 berths available. The cost for the weekend will be around $20. You may not leave your bedding in the car during the day since the car is open to the public (things can, and will, walk off on you). Anyone interested in a berth must contact Phil Lauricella in advance, be pre-registered, and submit their $20 at Registration when they arrive. You will be issued a special pass then that will be necessary to access the car.

Note: If you have made it previously known to Phil that you would desire a berth, please contact him again. Failure to do so forfeits all claim to any berth.

Main Battle Update, 4/6/11
I am working to expand and improve the main battle on Sunday. Positions shall be, hopefully, improved and more varied than a scattering of conveniently placed chest high walls (no promises). Bring wire cutters, as I hope to have concertina wire also (no barbs though). This year will include a battle 'prelude' and other battle-related scenes (ex: aid station) in addition to the 'main event'. Lets take the traditional 'field battle' to the next level!
