Epilogue

Thanks for another great year!

Some bumps in the road, some rain, some heat, but overall good event.

Thanks to all who made it happen and who participated!

The "Tour of Italy"

The "Tour of Italy" utilizes the trolley line that runs in a continual circuit within the Illinois Railway Museum. Several stops are established where riders can take in the various sights and scenes throughout the grounds.

The trolley's 'beginning' (riders can get on and off at any regular trolley stop) starts withing the US headquarters within the Allied controlled Italian sector and travels towards the frontlines where they see the multi-national forces in action. The trolley moves then into Axis territory, stopping to learn about German activities and that of the Italian resistance and partisan operations. The trolley then moves towards the German rear and visits their headquarters. The trolley finishes its trip in the US Homefront area at the station just by the museum's diner.

The tour runs on a continual basis during it scheduled time and one circuit lasts roughly 30 minutes or so. Any trolley car can be boarded to view the show and we recommend that you get on at the Anzio station stop located near the main depot. Some parts of the show are not accessible by foot and can only be seen from the trolley car, so don't miss out!
