Comments on HB 1329 and SB 5688
SB 5688 It is interesting to note that SB 5688 creating more rights for “Domestic Partners” applies to only .0022 adults in our state. Over the past two years only 5,221 couples have signed up for this special category of citizens. According to the Office of Financial Management website there are approx 4,820,233 adults in the State of Washington which means that 00.22% of the people are forcing their moral values on the rest of the State – especially the children.
HB 1329 HB 1329 which attempts to unionize Day Care workers (including religious day cares) claims that this will increase the quality of care because the Union and the Department of Early Learning will have better oversight of “professional training”. This would mean that ALL covered workers will have to comply to a one-size-fits-all State created measurement system to be sure the workers are “teaching properly” and/or the children are “learning correctly”.
This measurement system is called the “Early Learning Benchmarks” and can be found at: http://www.del.wa.gov/publications/development/docs/BenchmarksColor.pdf
Please pay particular attention to page 63 of the manual which asks caregivers to read stories about same-sex partners to 3-year olds as part of their “diversity” education.
This makes me wonder why a bill that will cater to 00.22% of the population is so important. Could it be that the creation of a new class of legally acceptable family styles is what will be used to stop parents and teachers from complaining and opting their children out of same-sex relationship discussions?
California has passed laws requiring textbooks to show “contributions” of the GLBT community in all social science and history books. http://www.eqca.org/site/apps/nlnet/content2.aspx?c=kuLRJ9MRKrH&b=4990109&ct=5200841
