The objectives of the Archeological Society of the Northern Chesapeake are:

·         Advance the study and preservation of archaeological remains, particularly in Harford and Cecil Counties,

·         Promote educational programs in archaeology from grade school through the adult level,

·         Promote high standards of archaeological investigation and reporting,

·         Promote the conservation of archaeological resources,

·         Encourage reporting of discoveries to the State Historic Preservation Office,

·         Support professionally directed excavations and related laboratory work and reporting, and

·         Serve as a bond between professional and non-professional archaeologists in the Northern Chesapeake region. In this regard, the chapter shares information with the neighboring Pennsylvania and Delaware Archeological Societies.
