The recipient of several prestigious scholarships, James has performed throughout the UK and abroad. In April 2007 Laura won the song prize at the Kathleen Ferrier Awards and shortly after, the Lies Askonas Prize. Her wide-ranging repertoire embraces song, opera and oratorio, as reflected in her programme.
29th January 2009Rivoli String QuartetHaydn: String Quartet Op. 54 No.2 Janacek: String Quartet No. 2 ('Intimate Letters') Schubert: String Quartet in A minor ('Rosamunde') Formed in 1999 the Rivolis have immersed themselves in the quartet repertoire, coached by eminent chamber musicians including members of the Endellion, Sorrel and Lindsay Quartets. They recently won the prestigious Prix Ravel. They play a programme of mature works written in the composers' last years.

They are currently Young Artists in Residence at Salford University. Between them they have performed in venues across the UK and Europe, including the Royal Albert Hall and Wigmore Hall.
