Due to Saturdays getting harder for me to do, the net will be moving to Thursdays at 7:30 pm, still on 146.910. This will take effect Thursday, November 3. All nets before that will be on Saturday, while all nets after will be on Thursday. Hopefully this change will make it easier for everyone to check in.
We now have a Google group so that I can email you with important notifications. Please fill out the form on the Google Group page. Be sure to get permission from your parents!
Some good ham friends of mine, Joe (AB6JP) and Marc (KG6ZKQ) (regular check-ins), put strings of Christmas lights on their bikes every year. I got to see their bikes, and they were incredible! Joe had the idea to get a bunch of people together with lights on their bikes and have a light-up Bike-a-Thon to raise money for the Salvation Army. I thought I would post here to see if anybody was interested in lighting up their bike and joining the parade.

I tried an experiment during the Net last week on October 24th. I was not there for so net, but I wanted to hear what happened. So I hooked my dad's police scanner up to my ham radio laptop and set it to record from 6:55-7:20 pm. I worked great! Now, if you visit the Audio Archives page, you will see the recording on the bottom. I hope to do this every net, now that I know it works.

Yippee! The Scout Day Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) on Saturday, October 17 was succesful and fun! I was a control operator on 2 meters form 9am to 12pm. I am looking forward to next year!
Woohoo! You can now visit this website by going to www.hamforkids.com! I bought this domain name because the URL for this website was so long, it was hard to say on the air and have people understand. The net script has been updated to show the change.
