Keyword Research


If you own a marble factory, then of course you'll wanna have a keyword related to marbles and related to your factory, but those of you who want to setup an online business and want to launch several/single website(s), you will have to do some keyword research before buying the domain.

Keyword research is the foundation of a website, if done correctly, the website stands strong and can rank high in the SERPs, and the totally opposite can also happen if there is a mistake in the keyword research process.
To get into the details of Keyword Research: A keyword is a word or a group/couple of words which is used in the search engines by users like you and me when we search for some information. For example:  Dog Training, Acne Removal, Fat Loss etc.


You can see in the image below, the word we are searching for is Acne Removal. The same word will be called our keyword, and the small list of words that you can see below the keyword is the Google's suggestions mechanism, with which it suggests keywords related to your search terms.
So you can get a good idea from that as well.



So this is the keyword you want to build your website/business around, But wait, this is just a keyword you thought of. Till now you know nothing about this keyword, with which I mean, 1. How many people search for this keyword.

2. What kind of traffic this keyword gets. Does it gets people who are willing to spend on related products and services, or only those people search for this keyword who are looking for free information.
3. What level of competition are you up against. Now you must understand that ranking on top for a keyword that is searched by many people will get you a lot of traffic which means your online real estate will start getting many visitors so there are very good chances that you will make a good amount of money with it.

There are many tools available which will assist you in choosing a decent keyword for your campaign. One of my favourite tools is Market Samurai.
But to be very honest I don't always depend on a software for my keywordresearch. However, I will explain you how I do it, and how it can be done with Market Samurai as well.
