The Nonesuch Mandolin and Guitar Trio A classical-music, plucked-string chamber ensemble based in Baltimore, Maryland The Nonesuch Mandolin and Guitar Trio was formed in 2005 by three performing members of the Baltimore Mandolin Orchestra (http://www.baltimoremandolinorchestra.org). Currently the trio consists of Laura Norris and Jim Blanchard on mandolins and Jeff Doll on classical guitar. The trio offers a refreshing departure from typical chamber music ensembles, which are dominated by instruments of the violin family. The Nonesuch Trio is available to perform in concert and at weddings as well as to provide tasteful background music for social events such as open houses, private parties, wine tastings, teas and the like. (Please see the Contact page for contact information.) The trio plays only acoustic instruments with no amplification, so their sound tends to be soft and quiet. Relatively small, intimate settings are best suited for the listener. |
