Cell towers are sprouting up everywhere, and oftentimes they end up in communities without the community members having a voice or choice on whether they will be installed or not.
There are numerous studies linking serious health risks for people - especially children and the medically fragile. The financial gain of leasing space for a cell tower should not be considered a higher priority than the health of our children and all members of our communities.
Lucas Valley & Marinwood is our home. We live here. We do not believe the financial benefit to Marinwood Community Services District outweighs the known health risks to our children an others of our community.

City Council bill would make cell phone companies inform communities before building towers View
"Cell phone companies will certainly hear about this - and not like it one bit.
A bill was introduced Wednesday in the City Council to force phone companies to give local communities an early warning when they intend to erect new cell phone antennas - often called towers - in their territory.
That will allow residents or concerned groups to generate "a dialogue" - translation: raise a commotion - with phone companies before the towers are already in place and it's too late to do anything about it."

EU says cell towers must be away from schools and hospitals. Antennas, mobile phone masts and other electromagnetic emitting devices should be set within a specific distance from schools and health institutions, according to a report adopted by the European Parliament.
The European Commission should make more reliable information available about the effects of exposure to electromagnetic fields to citizens who feel that they are not well informed.
The report was adopted with 559 votes in favour, 22 against and 8 abstentions.
