"May I Please Speak?" is a spoken word ballet-- a multi-disciplinary performance about the poetic process. With the words of Osekre Ishmael, CC '09, we seek to create a 'living poem,' a poem come to life. The half-hour long show chronicles the struggle for communication and its ultimate attainment through movement, staging, music, and poetry. DANCER AND CHOREOGRAPHER AUDITION INFORMATION The performance will narrate a spat between two former lovers as they engage each other in the tense choreography of unhappy love. We are seeking three lead dancers: two female and one male to play the principal roles of Woman 1 & 2, and Man 2. Please come to audition with a one-minute interpretive movement piece based on one of the phrases from the list below. No music, please. Titles for Audition Pieces: "Exit/Exist?"
