We purchased our home in 2004. It was already in need of some repair -- Hurricane Katrina sure helped us out with that!! It was a hellish time, but in the end we are more than thankfull for what we have.
Over the four and a half years we have lived here, we have re-done a lot, and all of it from the slab to the roof. It certainly has been an experience. to view a few before/hurricane damage pics, please click below:

And now, well in the summer of 2007, before we had moved back in.
Sure, we need a few finishing touches, some landscaping, but after a new roof, new siding, a new gable (and hell even our grass is now green!),
we are a far cry from where we began. And now a few inside pics.
Keep in mind that even after living in the house for over a year (after losing everything...) we have been slow to decorate. We're trying to find our style. We want to keep a contemporary feel, but we also tend to like traditional features. We're also trying to live on a budget here people! ha. I swear, it looks empty and naked in the pics, but it really doesn't feel that way. One day we'll have stuff on those walls... Not to mention, I realize there is also a lot of extra trim we need to finish, paint we need to touch up. We've been lazy. The "Great Room": Living, kitchen, dining
(yes... if I could do away with the surround sound speakers, you have no idea how fast they would be gone. It's J's toy tho...) That door back there? That's the laundry/storage room. We still need to poor a new slab, tile it, trim it. You're not seeing that!
Whoops - pay not attention to the crap littering the top of the cabinets!
The uh.... extremly boring hallway.
and
The two rooms you sure as heck wont see!
On the left is what we currently (although not so lovingly refer to as the "wedding room." It not only houses a futon we don't know what to do with, but also unopened wedding gifts and all that other sentimental crafty wedding crap I can't get rid of. One of these days I'll try to move it all out. I'll have to... it will be the nursery. The other room is our office/library/craft room. It was a friggin' wreck the day I tried to take pics. This is the stupidest picture ever. lol The hall bath. There is a jacuzzi tub and shower (and a toilet) in there also to the right of the sink. I have no idea why i have no picture of it. Hmm.
And yes, that is a TV... J considers this his bathroom and he designed it like that. I have to admit, it's nead to sit in the jacuzzi and watch tv. Heh. Our bedroom and tiny (and yet oh-so-functional) bathroom.
