Evolution of a Photographer
The art of taking a picture has evolved. I have gone through many different stages as a hobby photographer. At first, I took a lot of pictures of flowers. I was amazed by the vivid colours and tiny detail that each flower contained. Then nature, The awesomeness of it all. Next, I started playing with lighting and so on. Then finally, concert photography. The lights and motion. I love it! Its 2 of my favourite things at 1 time. So I have shot all kinds of bands and will keep at it. I hope that my images help these bands in some kind of way or promotion. Hopefully the right person will see these and I get to live my dream!!
Breaking News
As a result of getting nearly 24000 hits last year and 10 days into 2008, I have had nearly 1000 more hits, I went and registered a domain name www.liverockpix.com found a hosting company and soon I will have it ready. I am very excited about this transition from the "borrowed space" website to a .com space of my own. Googlepages will be coming to an end soon and transferred to a newer version of it called Googlesites. Its about the same thing anyway. Googlepages has been great to me. To have the ability to put together a decent looking page using the templates provided proved easy to use for a guy who renovates houses for a living. I will keep this site running for a while after I start up the other site. It may take me a bit to figure it all out, but it will be fun trying. The new site comes with several website building programs for me to try and make sense of! I am very excited about the move to a real website, thank you to everyone for all the hits which encouraged me to keep on doing it.
The year in review
What can I say, it's been 1 crazy year. It started out in London, ON and it is finishing in London, ON. In between, I've been to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Buffalo, NY, Hamilton, ON, St. Catharines, ON, Fort Erie, ON and Toronto, ON to see shows this year. I have been to 17 shows in 13 different venues, while travelling more than 4000 km to see more than 50 bands. I have photographed some of the greatest rock bands ever. Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters, in which members of Rush came out to play, Oasis getting attacked on stage, Matt Good releasing a recording of a show I was at, the return of STP, the kILLERS in a pre tour show, and a band that I have been waiting to see since high school, REM. I have had more than 24000 hits on this website, from visitors from more than 70 different countries on 6 continents.
This has been one of the coolest years of my life. I can't wait to see what the new year brings.
I use a Sony DSC-H5 digital camera. It has 7.2 mega pixels and 12x optical zoom and 24x digital zoom. The lens is a 2.8 - 3.7 / 6 -72 Vario - Tessar Carl Zeiss lens. This model has a large number of features including manual focus, ISO 1000 high sensitivity, 16 m flash and a 3.0" hybrid LCD monitor. This was about the best camera I could find that would fit into my pocket without getting too much hassle from security at the gates.
