Daily Happenings in our Universal Universe                                                                                                 Home

We shut our site down over fear that we had violated the Triangle's property laws, but now we find that we are completely fine. We never had any intention to break any rules, we just wanted to make sure our comic reached as broad of an audience as possible. As a rule from now on, we will wait until the Tuesday after the issue containing our latest comic is published to put it on the web, so that Triangle readers will have top priority(four days in advance, to be exact) to sample our super special awesome strip.

March 5, 2007 - Echoing doubts

Before you get all heated up at us for not coughing up our super special awesome comic, be reminded that drawing a comic isn't easy. You have to make sure the comic is good, as well. No matter how much effort you throw into a comic; if the humor sucks, no one will like it. Not to mention the positioning of the characters, the dialogue, positioning of the word bubbles, the punchline; a good deal of work goes into a comic. The actual drawing, too.

Not to mention that Mike and I are both engineers, loaded down with work and staying up until 3 AM to complete it while you social science majors snooze away.

It'll probably be up by the end of this week. Meanwhile, you can check out other cool webcomics such as MegaTokyo or Penny Arcade.

February 23, 2007 - A side quest

Roombas are only cool when they have hacksaws tied to them, or chainsaws, or any type of saw.  Or if they ate people.  Which was the inspiration for today's comic!  Just think of it as a side quest in our adventure to take over the newspaper.  And as a metaphorical look at our frustration towards the engineering department.  Who knows what stupid project they'll have us do next! Stay tuned in.

And now off to face my destiny on a DDR pad.

February 23, 2007

Today we released a comic for the site only, dealing with our frustration over the devices known as Roombas. These 3vil devices were a major pain to deal with and we felt that it would be best to vent our frustration by drawing this comic.

Why site only? The Triangle, our current newspaper who is kind enough to let us have space on their comics page, is viewed not just by freshmen, but by the entire university; Everyone who is not a freshmen would have no idea what we were talking about. We are trying to reach a broad audience.

February 19, 2007 - Mr. Sandman Intro

Mike here.  So yeah.  Finally did a comic.  Think it came out all right, considering this was quite a bit more complicated than I'm used to.  It was basically like moving from MS Paint to Photoshop.  That's practically what actually happened.  A five minute drawing followed by a five hour Photoshop session, all thanks to the wonders of caffeine.  I'll be shooting for a comic a week now.  Not like I've ever done anything productive on a Sunday afternoon since I came to college.  And now that I finished my ramen, I believe it's off to bed with me.

February 11, 2007 - Nate the Great intro

Welcome to the webcomic Universal Remote. Don't ask us what it's about. We aren't quite sure either.

Site is now online. Google Pages has a really simple layout, but we hope they improve on that in the near future. If there are any webpage designers who have mastered the fine art of HTML, JavaScript, or even (gasp) CSS, we are looking for you.

Contact us if you are interested in modifying our page for fun.
