Coaching philosophy: “I
feel the game of football is first and foremost fun. Maintaining a
fun learning environment for the players only enhances there
enjoyment of the game. If the players are having fun, they will learn
more, work harder, and become a better team. All of the work and efforts
translates into victories, small and large”. | | | Fred Murphy - Head Coach JR Midget Football - "B"

I started playing football at the age of seven in the Chelmsford Pop
Warner program. I followed through the program at all levels reaching
the A level under Coach Spike. I then went on to flourish in the
Chelmsford High School program under Tom Caito and completed my varsity
level with success as a running back and cornerback. I volunteered my
time in the Chelmsford Pop Warner program under the guidance of Coach
Spike in 1990 and it was there that I developed my defensive
back/linebacker coaching skills. I coached with the Chelmsford A level
for twelve years, during the last six years I was the defensive
coordinator. I was also a volunteer coach for the Chelmsford High
freshman program. I took a break from coaching to relocate and start my
family here in Townsend! I decided to volunteer in the North Middlesex
Pop Warner program after my oldest son expressed interest in the sport
that I love so much. I’ve now been involved in the NMPW program for two
years and look forward to many more. Coaching philosophy: To
know me and understand my philosophy you have to understand my passion
for the sport. As a coaching staff we are committed to starting with
basic fundamentals and developing our athletes at their own pace with no
pressure. We use motivational and esteem building techniques that will
reinforce the athletes development and understanding of the game. We
want to challenge every athlete to apply themselves to the best of their
own individual abilities and be rewarded for their own development. We
monitor individual development on and off the field as well. We expect
school and education to be priority and football to be the reward and
fruits of their hard work. Most importantly, we encourage each child to
be an individual and develop character that will carry through the rest
of their lives. It is great to see the stellar athletes achieve but it
is even more rewarding to take notice of the brilliant minds, the
comedians and the daredevils! | | | Brian Gallagher - Head Coach Mitey Mite Football - "E"
