Some of the recipes on this site we’ve invented, some we've inherited, others are adapted and evolved from existing publications, others still have been picked up abroad (we've had cooking lessons in India, Morocco and Jordan). Many thanks are due to friends who have passed on their recipes to us (you do get credited!), and to Crystal Palace library in London for having an excellent Food reference section too Another great interest of ours is beekeeping (see Nik, left). We installed a hive in our garden in June 2010, and despite a very cold winter that year, they had a very good 2011, including a good harvest of lovely honey. Winter of 2011 wasn't so good - the queen died, so we have decided to keep two hives from now on, one of English Buckfast bees, the other of British Black bees. |
