As of May 2010, I received my B.A. in Communication from La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA. I am a local editor in Lower Southampton Township, PA for Patch.com, a hyper-local online news service. As an editor, I am responsible for producing and publishing new content on the website daily. In addition, I utilize social media outlets, including Twitter and Facebook, to promote my site. I hire and manage freelancers and columnists as well. In terms of content, I report on municipal meetings, school board meetings and various community events. Previously, I was a staff writer for Montgomery Media, a Journal Register Company. I reported on municipal meetings and school board meetings for the Springfield Sun and Public Spirit newspapers. I wrote community features, profiles, extended obituaries and event previews for the Sun and Colonial. I also wrote for Ticket, Montgomery Media's A&E magazine inserted into 15 weekly publications. I wrote event previews for plays, musicals, home and gardening expos, the 2011 Philadelphia International Flower Show, film series and concerts. I covered a conversation between former president Bill Clinton and former prime minister Tony Blair on Blair's memoir at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. I also interviewed a PA Ballet Company dancer on her behind-the-scenes experience on the set of the film "Black Swan." I have interned at various organizations throughout college career including Philadelphia Magazine, Gregory FCA and WCAU NBC 10 to further my writing skills and knowledge of journalism and the communication industry. I am also freelancing for Dtown magazine and 54 magazine. I write monthly articles for the health and beauty section as well as business spotlights, community features and event previews. I maintain a personal blog, which I update bi-weekly. My long-term career goal is to work my way up in the magazine and publishing industry. I am comfortable multitasking and working under deadlines without inhibiting my creativity. I consider myself both professional and easy to work with.
