Dear Reader, I would like to welcome you to my Africa Research Project Site. This is a site concerning a very controversial issue in Sub-Saharan Africa today which is AIDS. This epidemic has cast a shadow on the African continent. We must unite to fight injustice and ignorance about this topic. Let us be the light and hope for the people that have AIDS. I promise to give people a second chance to live. We must strive for a generation free of AIDS!!!
The AIDS topic is very significant and of importance at this time because there are millions of people suffering every day because of this epidemic. If actions are not taken immediately, there is no telling what will become of Sub-Saharan Africa in the near future. At this point in time, we have the necessary resources to help the people in Sub-Saharan Africa and so we must stretch out our hand to them and give them a second chance at life. It is of grave nature that we stop the spread of HIV/AIDS and so I acknowledge you to help in the campaign and fight against HIV/AIDS in Sub-Saharan Africa. Let us combat this horrific epidemic together!
I must say that there was little that I knew of my topic before I researched it. It is sad to say that I, myself was also ignorant about this very important issue that is ravaging the Sub-Saharan region. I am informed about this topic occasionally every year for like a day, but I find that it is not enough. To think that this epidemic is greatly affecting people and is a world crisis at this point and we are all still clueless about it is unbelievable. This must come to an end and that is why I want you to not be ignorant and to not ignore the issues that are greatly affecting the world today like AIDS.
My research question was, what is the overall impact of AIDS on the Sub-Saharan region? I made this research question because I felt that it was important to know what AIDS has done to the people of Sub-Saharan Africa. I wanted to see what happened to their economy, education, lifestyle, and family life. From what I have gathered, AIDS has devastated this country immensely and the virus is spreading like wildfire. AIDS has taken over the lives of the poor, rich, young, old, and innocent of Sub-Saharan Africa. It does not discriminate, it doesn't choose its next victim by choice. That is why there must be a plan of action now to stop this madness.
I learned so much about the AIDS topic through my research. Just think that I have only been researching for approximately one month. This indicates that I have only touched the surface of this topic and there is still much to learn. I must say that I now truly understand HIV/AIDS. I know how it is spread, contracted, and transmitted. I have learned that the AIDS epidemic is no dollop of daisies. It is truly a serious problem that must be tackled instantly.
My research has made a very big difference to me. I can actually say that I have changed for the better. I have never had such a life changing research topic and this definitely has changed my life. I couldn't believe how much this research project affected me. It definitely forced me to look at myself and made me ask myself what I could do better in my life to help impact other people. I feel that this research that I have done will make a huge difference to others because they too will see what they can do to help others. I hope that by reading my essay, others will decide to devote their time and life to helping those that are in need.
Sincerely,
Nicole
