This is a generic copy of a C. F. Martin guitar made in the Viennese style of Johann Georg Staufer, ca. 1833. It has six-a-side mechanical tuners in a Persian slipper headstock. I use the term generic as opposed to historic to mean that this instrument has been made to copy the original as it would have been made at the time. That is: before any repairs, restoration or alterations that may have occurred to a specific extant instrument over the period of its playing or collecting life. |
