CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?

These new forms of communication however, do not involve human to human contact.  Writing an e-mail or a text message to another person is vastly different than communicating with the person directly.  Missing in these cyber forms of communication is the hidden element of humanity that is nameless, but essential in separating humans to an emotionless robot.  Whether that hidden element is seeing the expressions, emotions, the tone in the voice, the hand gestures, the inflection of the words, nevertheless human interaction is essential.  Unfortunately, in the Blade Runner universe, a lack of humans erased the humanity in the humans.  In our society it seems that in time the new forms of communication will contribute to a world that may be similar to the world of Blade Runner.  Now if one were to assume that in the near future humans will create androids only to hunt them down, could be in for a long wait.  However, the technology seen in this current society resembles the world of Blade Runner already; the resemblance exists with an already blurred line of humanity, in the artificial means of companionship, the ideas of risk management in order to feel safe, in the technology based class systems, and in the cybernetic forms of communication.  Both Dick and Scott were on to something when they created a futuristic world where humanity has taken a back to seat to control and domination, thus in time the technology focused society we currently live in could evolve more, which could ultimately lead humanity into social values that are completely cerebral and power driven.
