Too Far to Come Back

Sonic slowly opened his eyes and tried to move but found himself restrained by some heavy duty cables. He raised his head, a difficult feat with a massive cable trying to stop you, but he managed. The sight that met his eyes still haunts him.

Tails stood in front of him, his back turned. Sonic tried to speak but his mouth was gagged.
However Tails heard anyway and turned to face Sonic. "Sorry you have to be here" Tails apologised, his voice completely sincere "But I couldn't have you interrupt tonight. It has to be done" He turned back from Sonic and flicked on a light.

The light flared and the room was filled with light. Sonic blinked the allow himself to see in the suddenly bright room and was surprised to see Amy, Knuckles and Shadow tied up in front of the fox. He could see that they were still unconscious.
But Tails was too impatient to wait. He lent down and slapped Shadow hard across the face, leaving a red mark of the black hedgehog's cheek.
"WAKE UP NOW" He yelled at them, jerking them all out of their sleep. The three looked around the room. Amy was scared out of her mind. As soon as Knuckles' eyes recognised Tails he closed his eyes, he knew what was coming, and he knew he deserved it.

Tails however wasn't happy with the submissive behaviour and grabbed the echidna's dreadlocks and pulled, gaining a yell from him. "Don't play the pity card" He told Knuckles, his voice filled with anger. Sonic realised then that he had to escape, though what he would do after he was free...he wasn't too sure.

Tails knelled in front of the restrained Shadow and pulled out a switchblade and held it up for Shadow to observe. "Do you recognise this?" He asked, his voice slipping into an emotionless state.
"Screw you" was the only answer the ultimate life form gave him.
Tails moved the blade towards Shadow, the blade now a mere millimetre from the ultimate life form’s skin. "You'd better. I sure as hell remember it" He stared into Shadow's eyes, anger radiating out them; as his voice took on a saddened tone. "I remember you telling me that it would find it's way to my heart...it just might come true" He folded up the knife, dropped in on the table behind him, and turned to Amy.

He gave a sad smile to her, though he clearly didn’t care much. "You know what you did and tonight I want you to yell out to the others exactly what you did and I'll let you go...or if you don't...well...you'll still be free..." He fell silent as he stared into Amy's eyes. She shook her head, though with the chains Tails tied her up with made that hard.
Tails sighed at her choice "I though so. I guess you don't want Sonic to know" He was disappointed and his voice showed how disappointed he was with the choice "Okay but I can't let you go until I deal with the others" He turned away from her, to Knuckles.

"Well lucky number three. Do you know why you're here? Maybe a bit of fighting" He knelled in front of the echidna, pulled off the gag, and waited for an answer, but Knuckles just shook his head "I do not know Tails. But whatever it is we can help you" He was silenced by a slap, it didn't hurt, Tails was a lot gentler than he'd been to Shadow, but it certainly made Knuckles' pride ache.

Tails shook his head as he stood up. "I can't believe you guys. I gave you a chance to admit you sins and all you do is reject the chance and run" He sighed as his voice took on a harder edge "But I guess it doesn't really matter. Neither answer harms any of you guys..." He looked away from them and stared at the ceiling "I gave them a chance and they didn't take it..." He turned back to them "I guess it's time for you punishment" He pulled out Shadow's switchblade "It's time for you guys to get what you all want, for me to die. Any last words?" The fox was almost laughing at this point.

Sonic, Amy, and Knuckles just stared at the fox, each no longer fearing for themselves but for the fox. Shadow didn't give a .

Tails calmly turned to Sonic "Please close you eyes" His voice was emotional and sad but it was soon with anger as he turned back to the trio "But you guys must watch every last drop. This is my final request. I want you to watch me kill myself and know that It's ALL YOU'RE FAULT" He shouted the end "ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS ADMIT WHAT YOU'D DONE BUT IT'S TOO LATE" His voice dropped back to emotionless again "It's too late"
He slowly raised the knife to his neck and started to push it against his tender skin.
"Wait" Amy yelled out 'Please let me apologise. I don't want this on my conc..." She caught herself and just realised what she'd said.
Tails moved the knife from his neck and knelled in front of Amy. He stared at her for a few seconds "Well done" He told her, his voice no longer as miserable as before, though it was still sad. "You've realised. Now I want you to just admit it all, loud enough for Sonic to hear. Don't worry he will forgive you" He told her, his voice was actually kind.
Amy was silent for a few seconds trying to work out why Tails had gone from suicidal to kind, but she knew she couldn't pause for long, Tails could change his mind any second and she didn't want him to do that.
She bowed her head "I'm sorry Tails tha...”
Tails interrupted "Apologise to Sonic. It's partly your fault he's been forced to watch this"
She looked at him confused "But I did those things to you"
Tails stared at her, his eyes actually kind "It doesn't matter Amy. I'm over it...somewhat. This is between you and Sonic. Tell him what you did to me and apologise to him." She hesitated "Now and don't you dare start apologising to me!"
She nodded, and continued, her voice breaking as she did so. "I..." She bowed her head, after all this she couldn't look anyone in the eyes. "I tied Tails up to his bed and...and...pretended he was you and...I..." She couldn't continue and began to cry. Tails, seeing what had happened took pity and continued.
"She had some fun, Sonic" Tails spoke up; his voice now had no malice in it, only sadness with, strangely, a bit of humour. "She can't say it but I can. Nevertheless she has tried and for that I may not kill myself, but only if the others do the same" He gently helped Amy into a more comfortable position and helped her dry her tears. "It's okay Amy. It's over now. Anything that happens from now on is either Knuckles or Shadow's fault. Not your own. Especially not now" He turned to Knuckles "Feel like speaking now. Or is your pride still to great?"

Knuckles breathed deeply, this was getting much too serious for a stupid thing like pride to get in the way. "Yes I will"
Tails turned to Shadow "What about you?"
The black hedgehog however was stubborn "No. I won't"
Tails sighed "Okay. Knuckles it's your turn. Tell us all here what you did"
The red echidna looked deeply troubled, he really hated this story of his stupid decision. "Bout a month ago I went to Tails and told his to repair something for me. But unfortunately he didn't do what I saw as a satisfactory job and..." He flinched wondering how to phrase them, but then he realised that Tails didn't care how they came out, only whether they do or not. "I...I attacked Tails and...I saw red and started punching him in the stomach and even when he started coughing up blood I still continued. It was over half an hour until I stopped. I left Tails half dead lying there and left him there, still angry with him. Tails offered to do me anything if I stopped the attacks...so...I..." He trailed off but knew he had to finish "I told him to die or at least never annoy me again. I'm sorry Tails, but my stupid pride stopped me from apologising, that would've meant that I'd have to admit that I was wrong, a big no in Echidna law"
Tails sighed. The day had sucked more for him, but he’d let that one go. At least Knuckles had a reasonable excuse. "Well done Knuckles. You're forgiven" He turned to Shadow. "Have you decided yet?"
"I won't do it" Shadow still stubbornly refused the offer. Tails however was annoyed at the smart ass’s comments and knelled right in front of the hedgehog with the switchblade in his hand. "Unlike the others I won't be kind. You knew full well what you were doing. While Knuckle's judgement was blurred by rage and Amy's by lust, yours was not influenced by anything. There was no reasons for you to do it other than you are just a fuck-en arsehole" He holds the switchblade to Shadows skin, who just smiles at the threat. "I doubt that something like that puny knife could hurt me. I'm called the 'Ultimate Life form' for a reason.
Tails smiled evilly. "You keep on forgetting how smart I am, don't you " He pushed the blade against the black hedgehog's arm and looked overjoyed when Shadow's blood started to slowly leak from the shallow cut. Shadow, unaccustomed to the pain, thrashed around and yelped like a young kid. He'd never felt actual pain before and he found that it was one experience that he hated.

"Geez Shadow you're taking this worse than me...hmm...I know since you won't apologise how about I make you experience every bit of pain you've put me through" He suddenly stabbed Shadow in the arm and twisted the blade, Shadow yelled and started crying. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Just please stop hurting me. I can't take it"
Tails was still angry with the hedgehog but Shadow had clearly said that he was sorry so Tails moved away. "Fine then tell us all what you did, or I'll keep going"
Shadow nodded, actual pain was something he'd rarely experienced, he was only just starting to realise what he'd done to Tails, he'd though it was similar to the teasing he'd heard people give Tails and had simply gone for a more efficient method. He felt like a real jackass for what he'd done.
"I'm sorry Tails" Shadow told him, fully meaning it "I didn't realise it but I seriously though it was like how the others tease you, I mean I knew it would hurt you but...well...I found you annoying so I decided that verbal just wasn't quite enough...I didn't realise that pain was...like that...I'm sorry Tails. Truly I am. God I feel like a complete jerk"
Tails looked at Shadow he was still angry at the hedgehog but he'd outlined his rules and was going to follow them. "Well done Shadow you've apologised. I have...no quarrel with any of you anymore...unfortunately" He reached down and removed Amy's restraints, who immediately pulled the fox into a deep hug where she repeatedly said sorry for what she did. Tails, however, had seriously had enough of it and pushed her off. "Don't do that EVER AGAIN" He was angry with her again. Her touch had brought back memories that he'd fought to forget.

Amy jumped away and moved over to Sonic to release him. Tails quickly freed Knuckles and Shadow. "I want you, Shadow, to leave. I cannot stand your presence any longer" His voice was calm but Shadow knew what was going through the fox's mind. "I will" he quickly left; he knew that rage could often make people do things they normally couldn't, and he had no desire to see what the fox was capable of.

Tails turned to the others. "I don't want to hear another word about what happened tonight. I have forgiven everything and that is the first step. The rest of the journey I must take on my own. I'm going to sleep please don't disturb me unless it's important" He headed up stairs leaving some very confused friends.
