Script- High School Memory

Recalling experiences from four years of high school brings up fond, wonderful memories; some memories include hilarity, while some others include messages that are more serious. One incident specifically stands out while I take things into retrospect. The incident tells the story of something tragic which turned into an overall powerful message in the end.

One normal Friday morning at the middle of junior year, I was sitting in class awaiting instructions from my history teacher. It was first period, so I was obviously a little grumpy, as was the rest of the class as it was so early in the morning. As the teacher began to give a small lecture, I began to tune out and almost fall asleep. However, I soon began to pay attention when I heard the teacher talk about something very personal that I would never expect to hear in school. I perked up and payed attention. As I highly disagreed with the teachers statement, (in this case it had to do with politics) I questioned her reasoning and source. I will not go into detail as to the exact topic. The teacher then told me to lower my voice and that this was not my class to teach. I remained quiet until I realized the teacher was continuing her discussion. I then stood up and began to question the teacher’s rulings. The teacher then began to raise her voice as I butted in and asked why I could not voice my opinion as well, since we were learning about constitutional rights and freedom of speech in the class.  I was quickly sent out and given a small applaud from my classmates.

From that moment on, I knew I could never question nor beat any type of authoritative figure, no matter how wrong they may be.
