Tutoring

Members must complete a minimum of one hour of tutoring each semester; first-year members complete at least one hour during the spring semester, and second-year members complete at least one hour each semester.

What is tutoring?
Tutoring means being at the LRC tutoring tables (near entrance) in the morning or for half a lunch (half an hour in both cases). Students who want to be tutored will come to the tutor. These students will most likely ask basic questions that tutors can easily answer. If a tutor does not know an answer, he or she simply replies that he or she is not qualified to answer and refers the student to a teacher or another tutor. Mostly students need encouragement. Many times no students will seek help; in this case, the tutor spends half an hour doing homework. This still counts for a half hour of the required one hour of tutoring. Tutors may sign up in pairs.

The tutoring sign-up sheet is in the Science Office.
