On this Website (in the Sitemap listing) you will see two seperate pages entitled SICILIAN FOODS and SICILIAN FOODS PART 1.
This may be confusing, but the reason is that the first page SICILIAN FOODS is frozen presently for some unknown reason. I can not make any changes or remove it.

I have never put a death notice here, but there is always an exception.
My dear cousin, Nan Savarino, died in Port Arthur, TX, on August 17, 2011, at the age of 90 years old.
I want to honor her here since she meant so much to me all of my life.
August 11-16, 2011 Holiday
Upon arrival, I ate the best pulled-pork meal here.
  Went to Jan & Fern's daughter, Isabel's wedding.
Then over to the reception at the Atlanta Biotanical Garden's Lanier Terrance Room.
What a beautiful place!   Enjoyed going back to Stone Mountain in Georgia again. It has really developed after all these years.
A Not So Bad Idea!
It's time we fight back - instead of patroning those who give their monies to bad causes, I say boycott them forever.
And when their money disappears than they can't give to those who we don't deserve our hard earned monies.
For example, don't go to Tom Hanks, Sharon Stone, George Clooney, Michael Douglas,
Michael Keaton, Steven Speilberg, Will Ferrell and Carl Reiner movies anymore.
They just take your money and then give to those who are totally against our American values.
Patron those who only believe in American values.
Try it,
it just might be the answer!!!

     4/12/10: I know it's been awhile since I made a "Blip" - I just knew I couldn't keep up with it on a daily basis. Forgive! It's that time of the year for me to start packing my bags...and away I go to the ole homeland. Check this website constantly for any updates and new information. Ciao...until we blip again!
   Congratulations . . . after all these years!!!
Some say "Who Dat," but don't be surprise if you hear me say "Who Dis?" when I answer my telephone!
2/10/10: I'm still living after two illnesses - thoat infection and now sinus infection . . . give me strength!
 1/2/10: I'm still breathing . . . cough . . . cough!
12/29/09: I'm sick . . . Happy New Year 2010 . . . . return next year . . . . well, I hope!
12/20/09: Have added some new information on various pages so check it all out, especially on the "mondo piccolo" stories page and on the new page under construction. I have started to add pictures I can get off the web for that particular page now, too.
12/14/09: I started work on another page - it's totally under construction - and will feature all of my Sicilian trips from 2003 to the present - where my last book ended.
12/9/09: I started another page called "Small World Stories" on this site - check it out!
11/17/09: Had a great Thanksgiving, eating all the old dishes we ate years ago at our family gatherings - stuff roasted turkey with oyster dressing, etc. Thanks Peggy for a great feast! We are heading into December and before you know it will be the end of this year and the start of 2010. Are you going to call the new year twenty ten or two thousand and ten?

11/23/09: Information Blip:
"ITALIAN CHAT"
Every Saturday a group, lead by Italian Professoressa, Dora Fiorello, meets at Paradise Cafe on Veterans Blvd (in the right corner of the Barnes & Noble building) for "ITALIAN CHAT." The group starts at 11a.m. and continues until about 1p.m. Afterward we go eat lunch at an agreed restaturant. If you are interested in "parla Italiano," speaking the Italian language, come join us. We have a diverse group and it includes Cosimo Matassa, of records making fame in New Orleans.
  I tired to get that broad breasted turkey on my site, but it was a stubborn bird and wouldn't get on board.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my broad breasted friends!
11/19/09: V. Tallarita became 89 year old today. Talked to him in Bisacquino today. He sounded great! 11/18/09: Heard that Cousin Don is doing well in Texas after his heart operation. Hope he continues on to full recovery!
11/14/09 - Went to Thibodoux today with the Italian language gang. Ernesto and Debbie did a great job with all the good Italian cooking and desserts, especially the "lava rocks." Yummmmmmmmie! Sam S. finally got to see big-time Thibodoux. Had Regina in stiches!
Also, heard last Saturday that a young guy, who I knew somewhat, died in Bisacquino. It was very sad to hear because he left a wife and a young boy.
