PRESS RELEASE
The New Building Fund for a 'green' library in Tiverton, moved forward
with a donation of $1,760 from a new community partnership initiative
spear headed by a local real estate company, the Kinnane Group.
Specific to the Tiverton Library's new building fund, the Kinnane Group
has pledged to provide a source of charitable contributions to this
major capital fund raising project.
John Kinnane of the Kinnane Group, explains, "This new "Community
Partnership" program is very simple. It is a way for us to provide an
added client benefit to local property owners or buyers while helping to
raise monies for various local community organizations, in this case,
the in this case, the Tiverton Library Foundation which is raising funds
for the new library. Buy or sell your property through our real estate office
and we will provide the monies for a charitable contribution", and adds,
"that this is just one more small grassroots step that moves the folks at the
Tiverton Public Library toward the eventual fruition of the construction of
the new 'green' library. Charity begins at home and this project couldn't
hit any closer to home for us".
Funds raised for the library through this initiative are automatically
doubled based on a commitment made by Citizens-Union Savings Bank who
has agreed to be a source for matching funds. Nicholas Christ,
President & CEO of Citizens-Union Bank states, "We are a neighbor of the
new library in as much as our Tiverton branch is also located at Bliss
Corners and we feel that this matching fund commitment will go a very
long way toward helping an excellent cause. We're hopeful that others
see the value that this new library represents for the community of
Tiverton and encourage others to do their part in helping make it a
reality."
The Library purchased a tract of land along Bulgarmarsh Road in November
of 2008, just west of Bliss Four Corners adjacent to the entrance of the
new Sandywoods Farm development. Architectural firm Donald Powers
Associates has been hired to develop building plans for a new 'green' library.
Fundraising efforts are just now beginning and will get into full swing by the
upcoming fall season by the Tiverton Library Foundation.
