WELCOME TO THE 2011 NEW HAVEN RIVER FESTIVAL!!!

2011 Bliss-Stick  US New Haven Open- Results:

The New Haven Race yesterday was a great success! For the first time ever the race was greeted with warm weather, healthy flows, sunny skies - and a great turn out of 60 racers. A huge thanks to the volunteers who gave their heart, our Sponsors who put their faith in us, and the racers who put it on the line.

1st: Hugh Pritchard (Montpelier, VT)
2nd: Joel Kowalski (Quebec)
3rd: Patrick Gagne (Valleyfield, QC)
4th: Cameron Fiery(NY)

Fastest time:  3:45 by Justin Crannel, (Glens Falls, NY)
Fastest Woman Racer: Marie-Pier Cote

There were 56 men's K-1, 1 Junior Men's K-1, 2 Women's K-1, and 1 Mens C-1. Boaters travelled from Maine, NH, NY, MA, CT, PA, Maryland, South Carolina, Quebec and Ontario! Two of the four finalists had never paddled the Ledges before race day! Our 2011 legend is a local, though he has les than 10 laps on the Ledges under his belt.  We had almost a dozen swims total, most in the pool below Toaster with some swimming across the finish line!
