New Balance Boston athletes ran strong times in the final round of the “early season” meets.
At the final Boston University mini-meet, Andrea Sorgato lowered his 3K time to 8:15 – almost 10 seconds faster than his time 2 weeks ago. Paul Norton, Dan Kramer and James Weider all followed Andrea in the fastest heat of the day. On the women’s side, Jenn Donovan ran a fast 9:31 opener in her season debut over 3K, while Diana Davis and Joanna Murphy doubled back to run 10:02 and 10:03 after running 5:13 and 5:06 (respectively) in the mile earlier in the day. Also in the mile were Phil Mainwairing (4:16) and Caitlin Malloy (4:59), who led the way for the team in that event.
At the Dartmouth Relays, Erin Dromgoole and Caitlin Malloy worked on speed and strength against strong collegiate competition. Erin ran 5:02 in the mile for her season opener, while Caitlin competed in a rarely-run event for her, the 3000m. |
