*"SuperDrive" is capable of writing DVD-R at 1X, reading DVD at 6X, writing CD-R at 8X, writing CD-RW at 4X, and reading CD-ROM at 24X.

Condition: This laptop is used. As you can see from the pictures above, there is some cosmetic damage, however the laptop functions perfectly. There are 2 small dents on the top, a medium scratch on the front, and the area around the slot-loading drive is bent a little. CD/DVDs still load, unload, and play and burn perfectly. The screen is bright, evenly lit, and has no visible bad pixels. The latch is also broken, so the best way to sleep the laptop is to lay it upside-down.

I have used this laptop to make many movies using my DV Camcorder.  If you are looking for a good computer for recording your digital video to DVD, and you are not in a huge rush for that DVD to burn, this laptop would be great for you.  It takes about 2.5 hours for a 1hour DVD, and about 6 hours for a 2 hour DVD using the latest iDVD software.  I have also used this laptop (and my camcorder) to create DVD backups of old VHS tapes.  Granted you will need a DV camcorder with analog pass through, but if that is something you want to do, again, this laptop is very capable when it comes to DVD production.  The iLife software (iMovie and iDVD) make it extremely easy for even non-computer savvy people to make great looking home DVDs.
