Self Representing Artists
I am a Self Representing Artist, or SRA for short. What is an SRA? What does this mean to you? By purchasing items from an SRA, you can rest assured that you will be getting top quality handmade art. Lampwork artists are facing challenges from imported glass beads. These imported items are brought in at a much lower cost. What you get with a lower cost is lower quality. While these imported beads may fall within a much lower price range, it can almost be guaranteed that they have not been annealed. Without annealing, the glass has not been relieved of the stresses caused by the flame. This means that they are a weaker product, and cannot withstand the same amount of wear and tear as kiln annealed items offered by an SRA.
