The second phase of the playground project is going in this summer.
NES raised the following funds
$22,000 from EPDST (Medicaid)
$2,600 from PTO
$8,500 from Lance Family Foundation
$1,600 Northfield Savings Bank
$1,000 Cumberland Farms
$1,000 NES Students
$2,500 from the PE budget
This is the design of the K-5; it will be dark green and purple.
The majority of the funding is goind to redo the soccer field, drainage of the entire playground and fields, and raise the playground surface for a safer area. |
The third phase is going to be the focus for 2010-2011. It will include raising funds for a second play structure for the 1st - 5th graders, putting in new swings, adding benches and picnic tables.
The fourth phase is to add black top surfaces for four square, jump rope, tetherball, etc. Also to blacktop a track around the soccer field for roller blading, tricycle riding, etc. |
