Well, I haven't posted in a while, even though I promised I would. Now that band is over, I have plenty of time, so I guess I can make my first actual post now...

gOS, or "Good Operating System". It's a new type of linux made to be helpful for the average user who loves their internet, namely, google and myspace. Quite frankly, I love gOS, I just have a few things I don't like about it, but I'll get to that in a few. First are the things I like about it.

As you can see by the screenshot which I stole off of Google Image Search(compliments of my gOS bar), rather than using a standard menu, there's a really cool menu bar at the bottom, pre-programmed with all of your favorite links, like good news, maps, calendar, documents, and shopping, favebook, youtube, wikipedia, blogger and more. Now, this screenshot is of a different version than mine, and, quite frankly, I would rather use that version, but it pretty much works the same anyway. The thing I like about gOS version 3.0 is that it's called gOS Gadgets. It's called that for a good reason. With it comes Google Gadgets which, as far as I knew before, only worked for Windows. I love Google Gears because it lets you get some pretty sweet stuff right on your desktop. Okay, if you've used Windows Vista, you know what I'm talking about. It works exactly like the sidebar on Windows Vista. Another thing to note is that it comes with Wine Preinstalled, which is pretty nice. I'd say more on this topic, but I haven't used it yet so I really can't.
Anyway, that's all I have to say about gOS right now. If I think of more, I'll be sure to post about it. Now, I'll mention the negatives. It has a few issues with Firefox and sites that contain multiple layers of flash. For example, Verizonwirelss.com. When you go to the main page, there's a flash banner right in the middle that shows their different promotions, but at the top, there's a couple of dropdown menus that let you pick what type of phone or service you want, but because of the issues with firefox, those are hidden by the center banner. Now, this isn't just with gOS, because that problem also applied while I was using LinuxMint 4.0, but I've noticed that with the Ubuntu Intrepid beta, the problem was fixed. Now, I don't know if that's just because of Firefox 3, or if it's something Ubuntu actually did, but I know that it worked.
Alright. That's all for now. I'll be sure to try and post later in the week. Peace out. I love you all.
