November 29

Wow. It's the 29th. One day before the 30th. :D

Ok, the ACTUAL reason I decided to put up a post is because I started watching Hustle. Oh my goodness. Go watch Hustle. Now.

November 22

So, it's been a while.  And not much is new. Except for the fact that I am now officially the master of lab flooding.  If you ever wonder how you would go about flooding a lab, just ask.

And in other news, I cant wait till Christmas holdiays.....although the semester's been going pretty fast, I wouldn't mind not having to do anymore math. Ever.  And plus, Christmas holdiays means Antifreeze is coming, meaning that I can make a total fool of myself once again! yay.

Unemployment: 1       Aaron: 0

Darn. So i've joined the offical bum club, and it's no fun.  Not that bumming around playing games and going to lans aren't fun, it's that I am now dirt poor.  And since i'm gonna be spending quite a bit of money this summer, I NEED A JOB. ugggh.

Well, at least the oilers got to the conference finals, so I have something to do every other evening...haha. Maybe they'll sweep the series tonight. wheeeeeeeee

May 7

Wow. So I haven't written in my google pages for a while, and there has been so much that has happend between April 14 and May 7. Oh man, I don't even know if i can fit it all in one entry. haha.

So exams went not so well, but meh, I don't really care now, since it's now summer holidays, and since rehab med only looks at your last 60 credits of your degree, which means.....I still have one more year to flush out all my screwing up(ness). haha jk. But all in all, I sure hope that my first year was just a 'transition year' to get used to university....cuase it's time to hardcore it up for second third and fourth year....oh joy.

On a happier note, spring camp was a blast. I don't even know where to begin. The message was really awesome and got me thinking and looking at my life in a whole different perspective, and i'm sure it impacted a lot of other people as well.  Barriers were totally nonexistent as it seemed like everyone was so comfortable playing games, bonding with each other, or just hanging out, which made everything so much funner. And of course the games and random craziness was hilarious, from the big comfy couch, to the next zoolander, to some pretty crazy fishing techniques, it made LS Spring Camp 2006 one to remember.  For those who didn't go: make sure you go next year...you're totally missing out.

Ahh, I miss the days of the big comfy couch. WHAT TIME IS IT?

This is the ONLY picture of any zoolander related Spring Camp picture i'm gonna post. But i'm sure there are a lot circulating around. oh dear.

Dont worry, i'm not trying to imply that you're fat. hhahahaha.

 Onto something kinda unrelated:

So, since Jason had to leave on the second of may, we decided to have one last LAN party with him on the first. I was already pretty tired from Spring Camp to do much more...but then again, who can say no to a LAN party? (hmm, except for the one I just missed....I wanted to come, honest!).  So I was already kinda pumped for this one last LAN with Jason for the year, and I got my stuff ready to go, and a bit before I head out, to my amazement, MY BATRIG ARRIVES. Oh man. I don't think i've ever installed an operating system with all the drivers and updates that fast. ever. In the end, I was able to bring my brand spanking new batrig to the LAN, at which point I enjoyed my dual core all night long.

HAHAHA so I can't stop laughing at the three pictures above, so I think i'll stop my entry here.

April 14

I must say...today was quite the energy draining day.  Missing service to study all day in cameron, then getting to my curling game late...realizing we had a second curling game right after....getting home and eating dinner late...not willing to study....oh my, quite the day.  So here's my day, cuase I don't know what else to write about.

So today I realized that university buildings were close, so studying in education was a no-go.  I heard from a friend that cameron would be open today, so I head over there, and to my surprise cameron was in fact not open (at 9am).  So I head into the lower floor cab via doors held open by newspapers, and got down to work.  It wasn't long studying in the cafeteria in cab that my butt started to hurt cause those chairs were hardly chairs. More like slabs of really hard plastic.  So later on I realize that Cameron actually IS open today, just not at 9am.  All in all, studying today was quite productive, so i'm happy.

Curling, however, was quite interesting.  My team's first game was at 4:30, and half our team, myself included, got there 15 minutes late. It was pretty intense, with the sheet of ice being crazy and curling our rocks like mad, the other team being pretty crazy, but in the end, we managed to win the game in the extra end by one point.  I was pretty happy and thought I could finally go home, eat dinner, and do some more studying (yay), but oh how I was wrong.  After winning that game, we realized we had one more game tonight, starting a few minutes after the end of our first.  We were all totally exhausted already, and the thought of a second game was not really a moral booster.  Oh, and the other team had quite interesting costumes...Our team decided on lab coats and the such, but this team decided to go superhero style....in undergarments.  So the guys on that team had a costume of made of spandex, wifebeaters, boxers and briefs, whereas the girls on that team had costumes made of various undergarments I shall not discuss.  In the end, we were too tired to play well, and got whopped, by girls wearing bra capes......ew.

On a completely unrelated note:

Reflecting back on these past few weeks, I find that i've been really undecisive, and i've changed my mind a lot during that time.  Like my laptop for example.  I've now decided to ditch my idea of getting a gaming laptop, as i've come to realize that laptops aren't meant to lan.  Instead, i'm gonna get a gaming desktop for all my gaming needs.  OH which reminds me, i'm so happy and excited for my desktop to come in, cuase the case I picked for it is awesome.  It's the Nikao Masker, and looks so much like batman. Take a look.

I mean, it's like batman had some sort of mutation mishap and got turned into a computer case or something.....they're like identical! haha

That's all the excitement I can handle for one day.  Off to sleep! wheeee

April 11

Wow. April 11. One day left of school, and it's exam time.  End of classes,  but  beginning of exams, end of cell group, beginning of work.  Hmm it doesn't really seem like a good trade...personally, I'd like to laze about with no exams and meeting up with my awesome cell group from time to time...even if it meant having school.  Then again, we do get one third of the year off....hmmm quite the interesting tradeoff.

Actually, come to think of it, it's probably not too bad ending school, exams would only last like what, two weeks? and if I get the summer job I want, it wouldn't even seem too much of a hassle to go to work.  I guess the only downer is the fact that our cell group is gonna get broken up, especially since we've only started to really get to knowning each other, but I guess it's good to mix it up and build relationships with other people as well.  All in all, I guess the end of year one of my undergrad is alright.

So it's pretty hard to do work in Cameron anymore, ever since i've found stalkers on fourth floor (haha jk), and since I can't stop looking at laptops to buy for this summer...reading reviews, looking up specs, drooling over laptop pics and getting the keyboards all gross....you know, this and that.  So after long hours of review reading and drooling, instead of studying in Cameron, i've come to the decision that I would get the Z81 beast over the much thinner, lighter, and I guess more beautiful Z83 from Asus.  Guess which model has this monster of a power brick?

OH, so I just remembered that I have a curling bonspiel this weekend, and i'm not even sure at what time we play....it ought to be interesting though, going for a curling tournament just before final exams.....against provincial teams....in labcoats....hmm we'll see how that turns out.  Which reminds me, I ought to get studying before this weekend.

Which doesn't kinda remind me, I should go to sleep 'cuase i'm tired.

March 30

Oh man. I so want this year to be over. Even though the past two terms went by really fast, I really want to fast forward through these next few weeks, mainly cuase of exams. Hmm then again, I guess it's not only becuase of exams.  I guess it could also be due to Lent, Spring Camp, a quite long summer holiday, oh man, the list goes on.

Lent right now is still bothersome, how I miss my games...but then again, it's not as bad as when I first started, cuase it was really killer then.  Without my games, i've noticed that i'm in Cue a lot more nowadays.....playing pool, playing pinball, watching people playing pinball....man....all that time not spent in Cameron. haha.  But yea, pinball's really fun.  Especially now that i've figured out  how to get most of the multiballs in LOTR pinball, and after finding out LOTR pinball isn't 1 dollar per play....oh man, so fun.  I'm not addicted to pinball.  Nah.  Not at all. Honest! But not to worry, pinball and pool will soon be put on halt once I start getting really stressed about exams =/.....sigh.

If it's one thing i've learnt over the past little while, it's perseverance.  And I guess this is a good time to put it to the test... With Lent and the end of Year One finals, I guess i'll continue to grow to learn to "hang in there", cuase if I have faith, it's gonna be all good i guess.  And even if it isn't, life goes on, right?

But I guess there is something to look forward to after exams....SPRING CAMP! woooo....ooo my first spring camp with LS...it ought to be craaaaazy go nuts!  Hmmmm, should get to work on those intensalicious pranks.  Maybe i'll crank out another net again. bwahahah

Why am I still blogging, I need to study. Uggh.

March 26

I've always wondered that that triangle building on jasper ave was for. And now i know.  Outreach on saturday was really a reminder for me of just how lucky and blessed I am, with friends and family being there for me, a home to stay in, and meals to satisfy my hunger.  The experience was just like Assumption, where I got to see just how much I take for granted every day in my life.  Man, who needs to drive up many many hours to see "the other side of the fence" when really, the same things are happening right here?

When we first arrived at the WEAC, it was quite interesting to see a club-like sign reading "WEAC" above a shady looking door....Going through those doors, I felt like actually entering into a different world, a world where we usually dont associate with or just to stay away from.  It seemed so distant and different from ordinary university life to the point that it was sick in that so many of us just live in a bubble in "splendid isolation" as history 30 would've put it.

But once I got to start talking to some of the ladies and getting to know them, even though I could not relate to what they've gone through, and can only imagine what it would be like to be in their shoes for only the slightest moment, you can really feel their hurt, and feel how they just really want someome to help them out.  Even though they probably knew that we wouldn't know what they were going through, I got the feeling that they just wanted someome to listen to them, to sit down and to hear what they have to say.   Although I spent lots of time talking to the ladies, I had felt that what I had to say didn't really apply, and didn't really have an affect on them.  However, seeing two of the ladies, Rosie and Arlene in service this morning was really encouraging, seeing that they actually thought of what we had to say and put it in their hearts.

All in all, it was a great experience and brought back fond memories of Assumption....ahh Assumption.

March 24

So it's been hard trying to get work done the past few days when the rest of your family's watching the first three movies of Harry Potterin preparation for the fourth.  With curses, charms and three headed dogs running loose, it's just been kinda, just kinda hard to do stats and ochem....especially in anticipation of Cho Chang....haha.jk.  It's actually pretty funny when you watch a bunch of Harry Potter movies in a short span of time, cuase you can see the wee lads grow up. ahahaha they're getting OLD. oh wait. Daniel Radcliffe was born in 1989. huh.
