Resetting the U.S. Response to 9/11: Building Peace from Israel to Afghanistan Discussion with Jim Fine Legislative Secretary for Foreign Policy for the Friends Committee on National Legislation, the largest peace lobby in Washington, DC. Friday, September 11th 7:00 - 8:30pm FREE Please come to this vital discussion about our country’s course – war making or peace making. And how you can make a difference. Unitarian Universalist Church of Studio City 12355 Moorpark Street Studio City, California 91604 www.uustudiocity.org Light Refreshments
Escaping the disastrous consequences of the initial U.S. response to 9/11, with its reliance on unilateralism and military force, will require the successful implementation of new U.S. policies on Iraq, Iran, Israel-Palestine, and Afghanistan. On the record to date, the Obama administration and Congress look like they are both part of the solution and part of the problem for an essential reset of post- 9/11 U.S. policies. Rep. Howard Berman and other members of Congress will play an important role in pushing the administration in either a constructive or destructive direction. Come for a discussion about encouraging your members of Congress (Berman and others) to reset the U.S. response to 9/11 and establish peace in the greater Middle East. Speaking during the Q&A. | Our first community forum was in September of 2003. It was to alert the public to the endless war policy of the Bush administration when they proposed the first "supplemental funding request" to continue military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Since then, we have hosted many forums, nearly twenty. We continue to put on forums. Last month we did two! Peace Jamorama for Agustin Aguayo and Occupation 101 with Anna Balzar.
