Program InformationNeighborhood Walkers On Patrol
What can you do to help prevent crime in your neighborhoods? Join the Neighborhood Walkers On Patrol program and walk together to make our neighborhoods safe. It’s a great way to meet new people, spend more time outside, and enjoy your neighborhood. Join us for one or all of the scheduled walks. Or work with us to start your own walk.
· What do you need to participate? All you need to walk are some comfortable shoes and weather appropriate clothing. If you would like to bring a flashlight, a note pad, a cell phone, and a people friendly dog, please do. With the help of Union Memorial and Johns Hopkins University, we are able to provide identifiers for walkers. These include hats, glow in the dark bracelets, and pedometers/flashlights/sirens. You can get these at any of the walks.
· We will meet you there! All you have to do is show up, (although you can email or call us to let us know you’re coming too).
· The only time a walk will be canceled is... There will always be someone with the program there to meet you so walks are rarely canceled!
· Training - Please consider taking this walker/personal safety training. It is very informative, makes you more aware, and gives you the opportunity to ask questions. Of course you are welcome walk without doing the training first. Walker trainings will be run by JHU Security and the Northern District. They will be at CVCBD’s new office, 2434 Saint Paul Street. For up to date training dates please check our calendar on this site or contact us and you can RSVP by phone or email.
