Welcome

"Men, we are outnumbered! "

Outreach to men is a mission priority for Nottingham North & Nottingham South Deaneries of the Anglican  Church. This group has been set up to help facilitate this. We hope that it will be a place to meet, share ideas, encourage each other, enjoy fellowship and to bring more men into the church and into a personal relationship with Christ.

We are a new group who are only just beginning to get to know each other. The form and nature of the group is still evolving and we invite you to be part of this process. Come to the meetings, share your thoughts and help shape the future of the group.

Initial Meetings

"We have a cunning plan!"

The initial meeting on 25th November 2009 attracted 13 men from the Deaneries. There was huge enthusiasm and energy from everyone there with lots of suggestions for future development. A Curry Night at the Park Yacht Inn in Colwick on 22 January 2010 followed. Eleven of us had a great evening of fellowship and good food.  Saturday, 7 March 2010 saw us (25 men) at St. Patrick's Nuthall for a hearty-breakfast learning about "What makes men tick" from Paul Whitehead.

The latest meeting on 22nd April 2010 brought together a lively ecumenical group of 41 men for a sports quiz with Tim Friend (Sports Ambassador). We were delighted to welcome in teams from King’s Church in Arnold and from Holy Trinity in Southwell as well as teams from the Nottingham Deaneries. Most teams took the opportunity to invite one or two people on the periphery of their church. Some of us knew lots, some knew little but everyone had a great evening with plenty of good food and good company.

The group has not been active over the past year or so but a new meeting is planned in November with a breakfast at St. Patrick's, Nuthall

See the Group Events Page for further details of the breakfast and future meetings.
