Hello! Welcome to the official web site of the North Carolina Queens Council! If you're a registered North Carolina Red Hat Society Queen, Vice Queen or Activities Chairperson, you've come to the right place . . . you're right at the front door of the North Carolina Red Hat Society Chapters' working web site! To join our e-list to discuss ideas, events and more or have that information come directly to your email's Inbox through our e-list at YahooGroups, click here and begin by creating your YahooGroups account user name and password. What is the North Carolina Queens Council? We are a group of Queens, Vice Queens and Activity Chairpersons who come together within our regions and statewide approximately 4 times a year, although some regions may not meet as often as others. It's a very individual thing. NorthCarolinaRedHats.org serves as a central location for members of our North Carolina Queens Council to "meet" and greet each other. The NC Queens Council was started to give Queens, Vice Queens, Treasurers and other key people (such as Public Relations Chairladies and Activities Planners) a way to come together to share ideas, plan multi-chapter events, and get to know one another for purposes of bringing our members together "for fun and friendship after 50!" North Carolina is a big state and hundreds of miles separate us from east to west. So we've divided our state into more convenient "regions" to make interacting with chapters within a reasonable driving distance from your town a bit easier. Click here if you want to see in which region your chapter is located. We hope this site and our interactive "Red Hat Workshop" at YahooGroups will become a caring local extension of the national Hatquarters of the Red Hat Society, so lovingly created by "EQM" Sue Ellen Cooper. We voluntarily pay annual chapter dues of $5 per chapter to participate, which is why each region has its own treasurer. That $5 per year is divided. While Regions are free to decide how their dues will be spent, they may be asked from time to time to make a donation to the state Queens Council to help pay expenses such as any web site maintenance expense that can not be handled by a volunteer, web site "domain" expenses and hosting fees, etc. If you wish to know how your region's dues are or will be spent, you have only to ask your Region Coordinator or Treasurer. Our Only Rules:
I solemnly swear on my beautiful Red Hat to have fun and enjoy life!

In an effort to make sure you have all of this information at your fingertips, we have created this site with its various event planning helps . . . the calendar, individual Region blog pages, and links that we hope you will find useful. Looking for a NC Chapter to join? Click here to enter your zip code and be able to contact an open chapter near you. (Listings indicate whether a chapter is "open" or "closed." Many chapters close their membership after reaching 15-20 members. If you don't find one that's "open," in your area, consider starting a chapter of your own. It's easy, and the How-to information will be available right there on the national Red Hat Society web site.)
