The NC Primary Election

How am I a good representative of Northeastern NC? Like you, I spend my own money on things that I believe in. The money that I have spent on my campaign has come from a small inheritance from family members who recently passed away. As a consequence of supporting myself, I am forced to learn how to do things myself. I maintain this website myself. I put up all of my signs with only the help of my friends and family. My campaign manager is my conscience, because I am not interested in tricking you into voting for me, I simply want those of you who are also middle-class to know you finally have a choice in an election. This is likely the last election in which a middle class person has a chance of representing the majority of The People. America is bankrupt and is on a fast track to permanently having an autocratic government that is not interested in anything other than advancing its own power.

I, Jim Miller

Ask you, my Primary constituents

for nothing more than your vote on May 4th.

We have all given enough of our money in the name of politics.

Deep down inside

we know that electing the person with the strongest political ties

and the ability to get the most people to give him their money

is the reason that our Government is bankrupt

morally as well as financially.

Please help me

by forwarding this webpage to all of your friends,

and by researching my competitors.

Please help us all

BY VOTING on MAY 4th!

Fundraising will start on May 5th

I am running for those Americans who, like me, simply want to be left alone by the Government. I am running for those people who think that a deficit that is going to take 30 years to pay off might not be so bad if only it had worked, and the people who signed us up for it were making payments on it with us. I am running for the people who have had to decide between education and vacation year after year after year, and chose education. I am running for the people who think that if Thomas Jefferson, Albert Einstein, W.E.B. DuBois, and Abraham Lincoln were all subjected to the school systems that we have today, that they would probably have grown up to be nobodies. I am running for the people who I grew up with, worked with, laughed, cried and prayed with: my community, my home in North Carolina's First District.

There are a number of injustices at the Federal level that I would like us to fix.
  1. Forced Annexation should be Banned.

  2. The Government does not have the right to implement any legislation, including taxes, based upon the Market Value of real property. Legislation, if it must be penned, should only be based upon the price for which the real property was purchased by its current owner, adjusted for inflation.

  3. Professionals who have experiences and knowledge beyond the scope of common society, and who are undergoing litigation for an alleged transgression in their professional field of practice, have the right to a Jury of their Peers, with Peers being defined as those who have the experiences and knowledge to review a professional journal in the Plaintiff's field of expertise.

  4. The Government does not have the right to force any individual, group, or legal entity including State and Local governments, to accept funds from the Federal Treasury. Any entity may refuse any funds being extended by the Federal Government, without fear of incurring if they do so, fines, audits, further legislation, the withdrawal of other funding, or any other means of coersion on the behalf of Congress or the Commander in Chief.

  5. An individual has the right to repair or make safer his primary residence without Governmental hindrance in the form of building permits, professional surveys, or any other secondary party interference so long as the individual is the sole owner of the property or is the co-owner of the property and has written permission to perform the repairs or improvements from all of the other owners, the repairs or improvements do not increase the footprint or overall size of the structure being repaired, and the owner is doing the repairs himself.

  6. Anyone found planning or participating in a "man-caused disaster" and who has identification, current or otherwise, from any one of the following nations: Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, Afghanistan, Iran, Sudan, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, Turkey, Jerusalem, Lybia, Syria, Philippines, Indonesia, or any nation whose Governing individual or Body regards the United States as being an enemy of Islam, shall be considered an enemy combatant and tried in a Military Tribunal for thier alleged crime(s).

  7. Congress does not have the right to give itself a raise, even for a cost of living increase, when there is a Federal Deficit.

  8. Under no circumstances shall eminent domain be used to take the private property of one member of the private sector and given to another person or entity in the private sector.

  9. Members of Congress who do not serve more than one term will not receive ongoing health and retirment benefits. Noone should be rewarded by The People for fooling them once.

  10. Federal Budget Reconciliation can only be used for Bills that utilize less than 5% of the Federal Budget, as determined by the FBO.

  11. When China comes to reclaim their debt, the first things that they get are every single piece of property of every member of Congress who voted in favor of The Stimulus Package-- and of the person who signed it into law.

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a
permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until
the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from
the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for
the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury,
with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose
fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."

"The average age of the worlds greatest civilizations from the beginning
of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these
nations always progressed through the following sequence:

1. From bondage to spiritual faith;
2. From spiritual faith to great courage;
3. From courage to liberty;
4. From liberty to abundance;
5. From abundance to complacency;
6. From complacency to apathy;
7. From apathy to dependence;
8. From dependence back into bondage "

-18th Century Scottish Professor of History Alexander Tyler is most often credited for this quote.

Where are we in this cycle? Consider for a moment that we just borrowed $787 Billion, much of it from China, because too many people preferred to walk away from their mortgages rather than give up American Idol.

Bills Sponsored by Congressman Butterfield by Congress (all are in rtf):

I have been repeatedly told that to win an election you have to make up a message that is simple, such as "Yes We Can" or "We Need Jobs". I have been told to "dumb it down to a level that people can get emotional about".

I am running on faith in my people of the First District. I believe that people are waking up to the realization that politicians who regard the voters to be simple and malleable also regard them as their inferiors. All of you, even those who don't believe it, are my equals. You deserve to hear all of my thoughts if I am to represent you.

So here it goes:

In 2007, Democrats became the majority in Congress. Since that time our Federal Budgetary deficit has become the largest in US history and unemployment is the highest that it has been in 30 years. Although overcoming these problems will be difficult, success is only impossible if we continue to elect policy makers who are either unwilling or unable to recognize the the sources of these problems. For example:

  • Rather than recognizing the fact that being in debt is the result of spending more money than what is taken in, the Obama Administration blamed President Bush for the deficit, then doubled it during their first months in power.
  • Rather than recognizing the fact that unemployment is the result of businesses not taking in enough money to pay their bills, the Obama Administration blamed President Bush for unemployment, then raised the overhead on all businesses by allowing the Bush Tax Cuts to expire.
  • Rather than recognizing the fact that the vast majority of people who voted Democrat in 2006 and 2008 are not far left Progressives, the Obama Administration has opted to decimate the Democratic Party by making policies that only the most ideological Progressives want, but passing the legislation off as being representative of the desires of the Democratic Party as a whole. The Democratic Party when it was "The Party of Jefferson" offered America a healthy ideology that a large portion of our citizens identified with. Congressional dialogue between Republicans and Democrats, although it has been exasperating at times, has until recently been a healthy foundation for modern government. Today the Democrat party is not the Party of Jefferson, it is the party of Obama, and no dissenting opinions are permitted.
  • Rather than recognizing the fact that after passing the Stimulus Package unemployment and foreclosures increased rather than decreased; rather than recognizing the fact that after passing the Stimulus Package the Gross Domestic Product decreased rather than increased; rather than heeding the lessons of history, rather than following the actions of JFK and Reagan, rather than utilizing the knowledge of every intelligent economist in the civilized world and establishing fiscal policy based upon the fact that lowering the payroll tax is the most effective way of decreasing the jobless rate during a recession, the Obama Administration instead wants to continue developing more "Stimulus Packages" exactly like the one that has already resulted in a worsening of every part of the private sector of American life.

"Give a man a fish and he eats for a day"

What would you do
if a rich man told you
that in exchange for calling him generous,
he would steal fish from your neighbor
and give them to whomever you want?

I do not believe the conspiracy theories espoused by Conservative talk shows which assert that the Progressives are deliberately attempting to drive America onto the slippery slope toward Communism. Progressives are rapidly enlarging government to Socialist levels, but it is because they genuinely believe that if everybody gave just a little bit more money to the Federal Government, that the Federal Government could in turn solve the problems of certain portions of the American population.

While the act of giving money to people who have no idea how to manage money is not immoral, it is certainly naive.

What is immoral is the Progressive dogma that Progressives alone have the right to decide which individuals have too much money.

What is immoral is the Progressive dogma that Progressives alone have the right to steal that money from those individuals and use it for whatever Progressives alone feel is right. The ideology of redistribution of wealth, also known as Socialism, is by no means new. However, history has repeatedly and invariably shown not only that Socialism always ends up being poverty shared, but in order to "work" Socialism requires a dictatorship that increases in harshness the farther it Progresses. In other words, the Progressive path to a better life, paved in good intention though it is, is not new, does not result in Progress, and always ends in vast poverty for everybody except those who run the government.

Every colonized region in the history of the world has been governed by Progressives who wished to bring a better way of life to the poor, huddled masses of "less-enlightened" beings.

Please think about this: who gets to decide how much of your wealth you are entitled to keep? Remember, there is always somebody out there who thinks that you are more privelidged than they. Under what circumstances does a person or group get to take whatever amount of your wealth they want and give it to whomever they think is more deserving than you? When? The founding fathers knew.

Primary Tasks

The priority for the Federal Government should first be the reduction of the percentage of unemployed legal US citizens. The unemployment rate should be reduced to around 4.5%.

With people working, they will be able to purchase more of the products that they desire. With people purchasing more goods and services, the taxable income of corporations will increase, which leads to what should be the Federal Government's second priority: paying back China all the money that we borrowed from it.

It would be nice if we could be sure that the Obama Administration learned from the $787 Billion mistake that it made with our money. If unemployment decreased after the Stimulus Package, the Obama Administration would not heistate to take credit for it. Instead, after the Stimulus Package the unemployment rate increased as much in one year as it did in eight years of Bush. The primary solution to this is obvious: that we need to get rid of Obama. The real question is how do we pay back all of that money?

Why Don't We Have a Salary Czar Over the Politicians?

The following is a Bill which I will present to Congress if I am elected. I am seeking co-sponsors for this legislation from the pool of candidates who are running for election this year. If you agree with this legislation, please support myself and other candidates who support it.

I.  Congress shall pass no legislation which results in an increase in salary or benefits for any elected federal official and for any person who is appointed to office by an elected federal official, during a time in which the Federal Government is running a budgetary deficit.

II.  During years in which Congress has approved a Federal Budget that results in a deficit, the salaries of elected Federal officials shall be reduced. The salaries of elected Federal officials shall be reduced starting immediately upon Congress's approval of deficit spending. In addition to the reduction of salaries of elected Federal officials, the salaries of persons who hold any position which is appointed by any elected Federal person, any group of elected Federal persons, or any board of individuals on which serves one or more elected Federal officials, shall likewise have their salaries reduced; so long as the salary which is reduced is received by the appointee from funds originating from taxes collected by the Internal Revenue Service or provided directly by the Federal Treasury.

III.  The amount by which the salaries of all Federally elected officials and appointees of Federally elected officials, with the definition of appointees being as established in part II of this bill, shall be by percentage equal to the percentage over budget the Congressional Deficit spending is approved. The amount that the salaries of elected Federal officials shall be reduced will be determined by the total percentage over budget the Congressionally approved deficit spending is at the end of the Federal fiscal year. The difference in salary between that which is owed to each elected Federal official and appointee of elected federal official(s) by the United States Treasury shall be paid by the elected Federal official or appointed individual to the Internal Revenue Service no later than April 15th of the following calendar year.
