TIP 1
I had a hard time trying to clean up the edge of the
Lexan template. I tried a file but that was too much like work. I
happened to see my block plane, which had a freshly sharpened blade, on
the bench so I grabbed it and gave it a shot. The block plane made
quick work of the rough edge.
TIP 2
From what I have seen in my research guitar templates are usually just
halves. When you make your template lay it out on a piece of
construction paper and trace it out. Flip the template over and trace
out the other side to create the whole guitar. Once you have the guitar
body outlined cut it out with scissors. All of your imperfections can
be seen quickly, and with a full body template you can easily compare
it with other guitars.
