Hello Kindergartners! Welcome! My name is Maura Wiggs and I will be your teacher assistant this year on Track 3. I am so very excited about starting a brand new school year here at Sycamore Creek Elem! This will be my 12th year teaching in Wake County, including 10 years at Durant Road Elementary in Raleigh, and my second at Sycamore Creek. I have worked in both kindergarten and first grade and kindergarten definitely has a very special place in my heart. :) I am thrilled to be returning with Miss Naugle for another fabulously fun year on Track 3.
I am a NC native, born and bred in Raleigh and graduated from Broughton High, Peace College, and UNC-Chapel Hill. Go Heels! :) Carolina blue is my favorite color. In my spare time I enjoy reading books, listening to music, going to the beach, art, baking, traveling, movies, singing, and Irish dance. I like animals and cats are my most favorite. I have a big gray tabby cat named Hocus Pocus and he has beautiful green eyes. I also love spending time with friends and family, especially my adorable niece Ava and nephew Phineas. :)
I know we are going to have a "purr"-fectly wonderful year in kindergarten this year as we begin our exciting adventure together! :) |
