How to get involved

If you would like to be involved in your organization and become a club officer, or if you just want to make a suggestion for NRGSO, below are the responsibilities of each of the officers.  Don’t want to be an officer? No worries - you can still help!! You can write grant applications to fund our visiting speaker events, help organize special event lunches, make flyers, design t-shirts, give presentations, bring a documentary to watch, join a committee, or just show up for happy hour!

Officer Responsibilities

 

Chair

                        1.  Coordinates all activities of the organization

                        2.  Liaison to University community

                        3. Official representative of organization

                        4. Calls regular and special meetings

                        5. Presides at meetings

                        6. Prepares agenda for meetings

Co-Chair

                        1.  Assumes duty of president, when necessary

                        2.  Assists president in coordinating activities

                        3.  Liaison at Faculty Meetings - weekly Strategic Planning Committee (~ 1 hr)

                                - post meeting minutes & report relevant news at Grad Forum

           4.  Liaison and record keeper of student representatives on departmental

                              committees

Grad Forum Officer

                        1. Maintains records of presenters at forum

                        2. Advertisement

                        3. Keeps records during business meetings

                        4. Assists Treasurer to coordinate grad forum

Treasurer: 

                        1. Liaison to ASUA for the purpose of organizational funding

                        2. Maintains accurate and current account of all organizational funds

           3. Responsible for dispensing of funds in accordance with goals and programs    

               established by this organization.

           4. Assists Grad Forum Officer to coordinate grad forum


Social Chair & Co-chair:

          1. Plan & advertise events to promote fellowship among grad students.
