Service & social outing, April 2011
On Saturday April 9th, graduate students from SNRE assisted the
Nature Conservancy in
removing invasive species at the Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Preserve.
Students spent three hours removing Tree of Heaven plants in an attempt
to promote the establishment of native seedlings such as Black Walnut.
In addition to this, students surveyed the area along Sonoita Creek
identifying invasive Pampas Grass and removing one large plant.
SNRE graduate students hope to provide more of these opportunities for
students in the
future to engage with each other and the community.
