               Korea grew from poor developing country to a wealthy developed country, with one of the fastest growth rates in modern world history.  This is only one reason why many foreigners chose to stay in Korea. Recently Korea became one of the most preparable country where foreigners from different races choose to stay for good. Most popular are foreign women who decided to marry a Korean men and live in Korea.

              Large percentage of foreigners staying in Korea are these foreign wives. According to Korean Immigration records Chinese are in the highest rank followed by Vietnamese,Russians, Japanese, Philippines, Indonesians and Malaysians.

              The people of Korea have almost 5,000 years of history and civilization behind them. For many centuries this beautiful country was closed to foreigners; thats why they called it "Hermit Kingdom". But when it opened to the outside world it is now called the Land of  Morning Calm (Choson).  It is also called the Switzerland of Asia because of its beautiful landscape.

              The Korean people, especially in the rural areas are very conservative and follow the old customs and traditions. But people in the capitla of Seoul and major Urban Centers are quite westernized already.

             

              Korea is a peninsula, suspended from the Asian Mainland. South Korea is 38,000 sm. approximately the sie of Portugal. It is divided into nine provinces with Seoul having a special city status.
